EMILY DICKINSON...

Emily Dickinson was born on this day in 1830. She is probably best know for her style, unconventional broken rhyming meter, her creative use of metaphor and random capitolization & punctuation. Her innovative style reflects her deep sensitivity.
Her family was one of Amherst, Massachusetts most prominent. Ms Dickinson life story is a very interesting one & I would suggest - time permitting - that you read a little about her.

NEW FEET WITHIN MY GARDEN GO...
by: Emily Dickinson (1830-1886)

New feet within my garden go,
New fingers stir the sod;
A troubadour upon the elm
Betrays the solitude.
New children play upon the green,
New weary sleep below;
And still the pensive spring returns,
And still the punctual snow!
